From Front Door to French Doors – A Home That Finally Feels Theirs

When Kaiser's family got the keys to their new home in Dundee, they were excited to make it their own. Like most of us when moving in, there were a few things they wanted to sort straight away—and right at the top of the to-do list was the front door and the patio doors.
The original doors didn’t feel quite right. They were a bit tired, not as secure as they could be, and didn’t match the style the family had in mind for their new space. So they had us along to help get things moving.

Starting With the First Impression
We always say the front door sets the tone for the whole home—and the original one wasn’t doing the place justice. The family wanted something that looked good, felt solid, and would stand the test of time. After talking through the options, they chose the Rockdoor Aspen in Light Oak—a brilliant mix of strength, style and warmth.
At the same time, we replaced the old patio doors at the back with French doors in the same finish. It was important to them that the doors tied together and gave the whole home a more considered, finished feel—and that’s exactly what we aimed for.
Why Rockdoor? Rockdoors are some of the most secure composite doors available, with a reinforced core and advanced locking system that can't be bumped, drilled or snapped. For families moving into a new property, that kind of reassurance really matters. They’re also incredibly thermally efficient with A rated energy efficiency, helping to keep the heat in and the bills down—a bonus in Dundee’s colder months.

A Second Visit to Complete the Look
A few weeks later, the family got back in touch. They were so pleased with the new doors that they asked us to return to finish the job—this time replacing windows with high-quality double glazing in the same style and colour as the doors.
It’s always satisfying to see a home come together like this. By choosing matching frames and finishes, the house now feels much more cohesive—from the kerb all the way through to the garden.
We know Kaiser certainly approves. He’s made the most of the new French doors, lounging in the light and keeping an eye on the garden.

A Home That Feels More Theirs
This home improvement project wasn’t about starting from scratch—it was about helping a family settle in and feel at home, quickly and confidently. That meant:
Feeling secure with a door that really protects.
Feeling comfortable, thanks to new glazing that keeps the warmth in.
And feeling at home, with a consistent look that suits their taste.
The transformation was simple, but it’s made a huge difference to how the house feels day to day.
