New Front & Back Doors For Family Home In St. Andrews

This thoughtfully designed family home in St. Andrews, Fife already had a strong sense of style - but the original timber doors were beginning to let it down.

Over time, the front and rear doors had warped, becoming stiff to close and increasingly noisy with daily use. In a busy household with 'almost-adult' children constantly coming and going to their daily commitments, that everyday friction quickly became frustrating. What should feel solid and reliable had started to feel awkward and unreliable instead.

The aim wasn’t to dramatically change the look of the home, but to upgrade it in a way that felt considered and cohesive.

For the front door replacement, the family chose a Rockdoor Indiana composite door in Anthracite Grey - paired with a contemporary knocker, stainless steel letter plate and European rose handle. It’s a clean, modern combination that complements the home’s exterior design while offering the strength and insulation of a reinforced composite core.

At the rear, they selected the Rockdoor Cottage View Light, also in Anthracite Grey, finished with a European rose handle for style consistency. The glazed design on the back door replacement allows light into the utility room whilst maintaining strong security.
